Last Wednesday morning, May 9th, there was a major database error with The Event Chronicle website. I attempted to restore the website from a backup, but when that failed I had to spend the day manually correcting the database issues. I was able to get the front-end of the website back up and running around 7:00 PM Wednesday night with minimal data loss.
On Thursday, I spent the morning making extremely thorough backups “just in case”. I spent the rest of the afternoon going through each of the components that run this website one by one to determine which were causing problems and which were not. I’m still not entirely sure what caused the failure with the database to begin with, but I am slowly correcting the problems by a process of elimination.
On Friday and Saturday I was able to correct many of the problems, and yesterday I spent the day with my son for Mother’s Day…
Sidenote… We had a really great time! 🙂 Oddly enough, my science-brained son who works in a medical laboratory has suddenly started to awaken over the past several weeks. It’s been an amazing process to observe. He’s beginning to realize that his “Crazy Mom” might not be so “crazy” after all! haha He suddenly has many questions about the esoteric, and has developed a strong interest in crystals, and feels as though he’s meant to be a healer of some sort. He has NEVER had an interest in any of these types of things before now. I’m excited to watch were this journey may take him, and I’m honored to be able to help him along the way. We sat in my living room and talked for HOURS yesterday, lasting late into the night. We had some very deep and meaningful conversations on a variety of topics. It was the best gift I ever could have received for Mother’s Day. I’m so excited that he’s finally beginning to awaken!
OK, back to the boring ol’ website update… SO, the front-end of the website is still functional, but a little slower than usual. The back-end of the website where I work is a complete disaster! It is barely functional and it makes writing this simple post extremely difficult.
Throughout the day some areas of the website might not work, and there’s a chance that I might need to take the website offline for a little while. I’m going to try my best to get everything taken care of today. There’s a lot going on right now, so I hope to be back to business as usual as soon as possible because I have a feeling that the next couple of weeks are going to be quite interesting!
I appreciate your patience and understanding,
The Event Chronicle
